Men's Cross Country: Titans Win Season-Opener as Hosts of Fisher Invitational

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College men's cross country team won its season-opener as hosts of the Fisher Invitational on Saturday. The Titans had the best score with 51 points.

Westminster had three top-10 finishers, led by freshman Matt Slagle (Bruin, PA) who clocked in at 30:06.9 for seventh place. Rounding out the top-10 finishers for Westminster were senior Aaron Sutton (Warren, OH / Howland) (30:18.0/ninth) and freshman Matt Cramer (Champion, PA) (30:20.8/10th).

Waynesburg's Brendan Keany finished first overall with a time of 28:42.5.

Completing the team finishers were Penn State-Altoona (56 pts.), Franciscan (Ohio) (73 pts.), Waynesburg (73 pts.), Geneva (123 pts.), Pitt -Greensburg (169 pts.), and Hiram (171 pts.).

The Titans are back in action Sept. 14 when they travel to Waynesburg.
