Men's Tennis: Titans Place Fourth at PACs, Earn Sportmanship Award

Erie, Pa. - The Westminster College men's tennis team came in fourth place out of eight teams at the PAC Championships.  Coach Scott Renninger and the Westminster program were honored as the league's sportsmanship award winner.
 
Westminster tallied 12 points in the two day event.
 
Mike Matisi (Lowellville, OH / Lowellville) won his first round match in No. 4 singles (6-2, 6-4), before falling in the semi-finals (6-2, 2-6, 6-3).  Matisi then went on to win the consolation match (6-0, 6-0) to earn All-PAC Honorable Mention.
 
Ryan Carr (Cheektowaga, NY / Cheektowaga Central) earned All-PAC Honorable Mention in No. 5 singles.  Carr won his round one match (6-3, 7-5), then lost in the semi-finals (6-3, 7-5) before winning the consolation match (7-5, 1-6, 6-0).
 
The No. 2 doubles team of Brad Thomas (Warren, OH / Champion) and Matisi earned All-PAC Honorable Mention honors after winning their consolation match, as did the No. 3 doubles team of Carr and Marshall Finelli (Girard, OH / Ursuline).
