Westminster Titan Football Honors its Players at Post Season Banquet

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster Titans had their annual post-season football banquet on Sunday. Head coach Jeff Hand and his staff, gave out several awards to congratulate the top players after another hard working season.

Junior QB Dak Britt (Battle Creek, MI/Battle Creek) was awarded team MVP as well as Offensive MVP and Newcomer of the Year based on a vote from his teammates. In his first season with the Titans, Britt finished with 1,386 passing yards, 11 TDs, and eight interceptions. He also added to the run game with 565 yards rushing with eight TDs. 

The Defensive MVP went to senior LB Derrick Orloski (Butler, PA/Slippery Rock). Orloski compiled 60 tackles on the season, eight of which were for a loss, and one sack to go along with one interception.  His outstanding play earned him second team all-PAC honors.

The most improved awards went to junior RB Tyler Banks (Meadville, PA/Meadville) for the offense and sophomore CB Jared Heck (Pittsburgh, PA/North Hills) for the defense. Banks led the Titans with 651 yards rushing and six TDs. Heck recorded 45 tackles on the season to go along with one interception and five passes defended.

Other awards include Special Teams MVP which went to freshman LB Justin Shaw (Monaca, PA/Central Valley), Battle of the Trenches Award to junior DL Sean Christofferson (New Wilmington, PA/Wilmington), and Titan of the Year which was given to senior TE Logan Belinda (State College, PA/State College).

Also receiving awards were freshman Rob Moss (Transfer, PA/Sharpsville) for Scout Team Defensive Player of the Year and senior Matt Lawless (Pittsburgh, PA/Northgate) for Scout Team Offensive Player of the Year.  

The Titans finished the season with a 3-6 overall record and 2-6 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC).
