Men's Swimming & Diving: Nedley Named December 2012 PAC Men's SAAC Scholar-Athlete of the Month

GREENVILLE, Pa. - The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) announced that Westminster College senior men's swimmer Alan Nedley (White, Pa./Connellsville) has been named the PAC Men's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Scholar-Athlete of the Month for December 2012.
 
A three-time All-PAC First Team honoree, Nedley swam to a second-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly (1:55.20) and was a member of the third-place 400-yard medley relay (3:28.72) at November's College of Wooster Invitational. The Westminster men's swimming and diving team is currently 5-0 overall and 2-0 in PAC dual meets.
 
Nedley is a co-captain of the Titans' swimming and diving team this year. On campus he is a member of the Fresh Start Team (first-year student orientation), serves on both the Student Life and Athletic Council and is the President of Westminster's SAAC. A business administration major with a focus in marketing, Nedley maintains a 3.343 grade-point average.
 
Each month the SAAC at PAC member institutions nominate student-athletes for Scholar-Athlete of the Month consideration based on academic and athletic accomplishments. Honorees must be a varsity member in their respective sport(s) and in their junior or senior year. Scholar-Athletes of the Month must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and be actively involved within his or her campus community.
 
Westminster will compete at Division II Rollins College (Fla.) today at 2 p.m.
