NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) today selected men's basketball senior Doug Smith (South Park, PA / South Park) as its SAAC Titan Athlete of the Week for the week of December 3.
Smith scored a career-high 40 points (14-of-23), including a career-best 10 three-pointers (10-of-17) in the Titans' 92-87 overtime loss at Washington & Jefferson. Smith's 10 three-pointers (six in the second half) ranked second all-time in Westminster history, only one away from the record (Mark DeMonaco '04 with 11). For his efforts, Smith was named the PAC Sports Network Player of the Game.
The Titans will open a two-game home stretch starting with Thiel tonight at 8 p.m.
