GROVE CITY, Pa. - The Westminster College women's tennis team topped the defending Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) champion Grove City with the score of 7-2. The Titans improved to 9-0 overall and 4-0 in the PAC, while the Wolverines dropped to 4-2 overall and 4-1 in the conference.
Winning their respective singles were senior Alex Bailey (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional) (6-4, 6-1/no.1), junior Caitlin Hosler (Lititz, PA / Manheim Central) (6-0, 6-2/no.2), junior Heather Santa (Butler, PA / Butler) (7-5, 6-4/ no. 4), sophomore Lauren Fling (Norton, OH/Norton) (6-0, 6-0/no. 5), and senior Beth Ekimoff (Webster, NY / Webster Schroeder) (6-3, 4-6, 11-9/no. 6).
The duos of no. 1 Bailey and Hosler and no. 3 senior Jane Larson (Warren, PA/Warren) and Ekimoff won 8-5 and 8-4 in doubles, respectively.
The Titans begin a five-game home stretch, starting with Washington & Jefferson on Oct. 2 at 4 p.m.
