ERIE, Pa. - The Westminster College women's golf team finished in fifth place with a 747 on Sunday at the two-day Mercyhurst Invitational held at Downing Golf course in Harbor Creek, Pa. As a team, Westminster improved nine strokes from yesterday with a 369.
Senior Pamela Bonneau (McMurray, PA / Peters Township) led Westminster with a 179 (92-87) for a tie in 12th place. Freshman Jordan McGee (Punxsutawney, PA / Punxsutawney) followed with a tie in 17th place with a 185 (92-93). Sophomore Rachel Sherman (North East, PA / North East) had the best stroke improvement in day two for the Titans with a 90, nine strokes better than yesterday totaling a 189.
Freshman Morgan Pierce (Fredonia, PA / Reynolds) 198 (95, 103) and sophomore Jenna Huston (Beaver Falls, PA / Blackhawk) 201 (102, 99) rounded out the top-five performances for Westminster.
Westminster is back on the links tomorrow as they participate in the Washington and Jefferson Invite at 12:00 p.m.
