Women's Golf: Titans Place Fourth as Host of the Eckles Invitational

NEW CASTLE, Pa. - The Westminster College women's golf team placed fourth out of eight teams as hosts of the 11th annual Mary Cleland Eckles Invitational held Monday at the New Castle Country Club.

Seton Hill won the event with a 354, followed by Clarion at 377, Malone at 378, Westminster at 406, Washington & Jefferson at 413, Point Park at 416, Grove City at 440, and St. Vincent at 459. A total of 47 golfers from nine schools competed in the event, which is Westminster's only home event of the season.

Senior Pam Bonneau (McMurray, Pa./Peters Township) led the Titans by tying for tenth overall with a 94 (43-51). Junior Becca Schuster (Oil City, Pa./Oil City) shot a 24th-place 103 (47-56) and freshman Morgan Pierce (Fredonia, PA / Reynolds) made the top 25 by tying for 25th with a 104 (49-55).

Seton Hill's Morgan Miller took home medalist honors with a round-best 83 (38-45). There were also two hole-in-one on the day.

Westminster will compete in the Mercyhurst Invitational on Saturday.
