Men's Golf: Titans Place Fourth as Host of Westminster Invitational

NEW CASTLE, Pa. - The Westminster College men's golf team placed fourth out of 10 teams as hosts of the Westminster Invitational held Monday at the New Castle Country Club.

The Titans shots a team score of 334, 21 strokes behind Carnegie Mellon (313), 13 behind Clarion (321) and 11 behind Allegheny (323). The rest of the field consisted of St. Vincent (335), Grove City (342), Mercyhurst (354), Penn. St.-Behrend (354), Thiel (354), and Waynesburg (397).

Carnegie Mellon's Ian Bangor shot a round-best 73 to take home Westminster Invitational medalist honors.

Westminster's senior David Mlinarich (North Huntingdon, PA / Norwin) and freshman Ross Montanti (Gibsonia, PA / Pine-Richland) tied for 18th place with an 83. Other Titan scores included sophomore David Paladino (Jefferson Hills, PA / Thomas Jefferson) and senior Nate Silvis (St. Petersburg, PA / Allegheny Clarion Valley) who both shot an 84 for a 21st-place tie.

The Titans return to action at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational on Thursday, March 12.
