Men's Tennis: Titans Drop Bison 8-1

BETHANY, W. Va. - The Westminster College men's tennis team beat Bethany College 8-1 on Monday. The Titans improved to 2-8 overall and 2-1 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC), while the Bison fell to 2-3 on the season and 0-3 in the conference.

In first singles, senior Drew Trifelos (Newark, OH / Granville Christian Academy) won 6-1, 6-3. Junior Sean Black (Aurora, OH / Aurora) won in second singles 6-4, 6-4. Freshman Mike Matisi (Lowellville, OH / Lowellville) won in third singles 6-3, 6-1.

Juniors Ryan Carr (Cheektowaga, NY / Cheektowaga Central) and Marshall Finelli (Girard, OH / Ursuline) won in fourth and fifth singles both with a score of 6-1, 6-1.

Westminster won all three points in doubles. The duo of junior Brad Thomas (Warren, OH / Champion) and Drew Trifelos won in first doubles 8-4. In second doubles, the pair of
Sean Black and Ryan Carr won 8-2. In third doubles, Marshall Finelli and Mike Matisi won 8-6.

Westminster will look to build on an impressive win at home versus Washington and Jefferson Saturday March 31 at 11:00am.
