NEW CONCORD, Ohio - The Westminster College outdoor track and field team's both placed second at the Amy Adams Memorial Invitational at Muskingum College. The women had 172 points and the men finished with 103.50 points, five others schools participated.

For the women's team, sophomore Haley Gabor (New Kensington, PA / Ford City) won the 200-meter and the 400-meter dash with times of 26.44 and 58.94, respectively.  Senior Mallory Mack (Carnegie, PA / Chartiers Valley) won the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.10.

In the 5000-meter run, freshman Jenny Jones (Erie, PA / Fort Leboeuf) placed second with a time of 19:44.86. In the 100-meter hurdles, sophomore Kristen Basista (Mineral Ridge, OH / Mineral Ridge) won the event with a time of 16.01.

In the 100-meter relay, Westminster won the event with a time of 50.05. In the pole vault, senior Merissa Malcolm (Freeport, PA / Freeport) placed third with a mark of 3.35 meters. In the long jump, senior Alisha Slater (Wooster, OH / Norwayne) won the event with a mark of 5.10 meters.

In the triple jump, sophomore Kaitlin Roth (Clarion, PA / Clarion) placed second with a mark of 9.85 meters. Senior Emily Dolsak (McDonald, OH / McDonald) placed second in the discus throw with a mark of 42.51 meters. In the javelin throw, senior Bridget McCray (Centerville, PA / Titusville) placed second with a mark of 32.15 meters.

On the men's side, sophomore Aaron Sutton (Warren, OH / Howland) placed third with a time of 16:03.77. In the pole vault, junior Mark Saylor (West Middlesex, PA / West Middlesex) placed second with a mark of 4.42 meters.

In the long jump, sophomore Anthony Thomas (New Castle, PA / Union) won with a mark of 6.54 meters. In the discus throw, senior Les Tabor (Niles, OH / Niles McKinley) finished fourth with a mark of 37.29 meters. In the javelin throw, junior Derrick Orloski (Butler, PA / Slippery Rock) placed second with a mark of 43.55 meters.

Westminster will be back in action on Friday at the College of Wooster at 3:00pm.
