CONWAY, S.C. - The Westminster College outdoor track and field team kicked off its season at the Coastal Carolina Invitational against Division I, II, and III competition this past weekend.

For the women's team, senior Emily Dolsak (McDonald, OH / McDonald) led the way placing fourth in the discus throw with a mark of 40.32 meters. Senior Mallory Mack (Carnegie, PA / Chartiers Valley) placed 22nd in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.75.

Freshman Jenny Jones (Erie, PA / Fort Leboeuf) placed 18th in the 3000-meter run with a time of 11:06.20. The 100-meter relay team placed 10th with a time of 50.37. The team consisted of senior Hayley Ebersbacher (Chesterland, OH / West Geauga), senior Mallory Mack, junior Erica Ekstrom (Jamestown, NY / Southwestern), and sophomore Haley Gabor (New Kensington, PA / Ford City). 

The women's 400-meter relay team also placed 10th with a time of 4:13.99. The team consisted of Mack, Eckstrom, Gabor, and sophomore Olivia Bonavita (Aliquippa, PA / Hopewell).

On the men's side, junior Adam Carswell (Painesville, OH / Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) placed seventh in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.35. In the 1500-meter run, sophomore Aaron Sutton (Warren, OH / Howland) finished 15th (4:08.44).

In the field events, freshman Natty Schramm (Jeannette, PA / Pittsburgh Central Catholic) finished ninth in the pole vault with a 13'1.50" mark. In the javelin throw, junior Derrick Orloski (Butler, PA / Slippery Rock) placed ninth with a mark of 50.72 meters.

Westminster will continue its season at the Grove City Mini-Meet on March 20.
