BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Westminster College men's and women's cross country teams completed their 2009 seasons at the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional on Saturday at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa., hosted by Muhlenberg College.
The Titan women placed 17th out of 44 teams with 530 points, while the Titan men took 28th out of 45 teams with 774 points.
Freshman Brittany Kaltenbaugh (Waterford, Pa./Fort LeBoeuf) ran a 42nd-place time of 23:29.8 in the 6-kilometer women's race to lead Westminster. She was followed by senior Rachel Hudson (Lowelville, Ky./Pinecrest (N.C.)) in at 69th place (23:59.8.) and sophomore Jennifer Krueger (Adamsville, Pa./Conneaut Lake) at 78th (24.06.1).
Lebanon Valley's Jenn Cronin won the race in 21:39.2, while Johns Hopkins finished atop the team standings with 109 points.
On the men's side, sophomore Morgan Hanes (McKean, Pa./General McLane) led the Titans with an 87th-place finish at 27.13.0 in the 8-kilometer race, followed by senior Jeremiah Patterson (Jefferson, Ohio/Jefferson) in at 28.30.0 for 167th.
Allegheny was the first place men's team with 59 points, led by first-place finisher Chris Marker and his time of 24.54.3.
