NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - For a third consecutive year, Westminster College senior running back Nick McKolosky (Johnstown, Pa./Westmont Hilltop) earned recognition on the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Football Team selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). McKolosky earned a spot on the second team for the Academic All-District II College Division.
McKolosky currently ranks fourth in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) with 78.4 rushing yards per game, as he has rushed for 549 yards on 154 attempts and six touchdowns in 2009.
The school's fifth all-time leading rusher with 2,696 career rushing yards, McKolosky ranks seventh in school history with 27 career touchdowns and sixth with 23 career rushing touchdowns.
A biology major with a 3.44 cumulative grade-point average, McKolosky was also one of 154 semifinalists (34 in NCAA Division III) for the Campbell Trophy and the National Football Foundation National Scholar Athlete.
The District II College Division consists of all non-NCAA Division I college and universities in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia. To be nominated for the program, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.3 or higher cumulative grade-point average and be a starter or significant reserve.
Westminster (3-5, 2-3 PAC) plays at Grove City Saturday at 1 p.m. before completing its 2009 schedule at home vs. Geneva Nov. 14.
