SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - The Westminster College men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Slippery Rock Invitational on Saturday at the Coopers Lake Campground. The Titan women placed fifth out of nine varsity teams with 157 points, while the men placed fourth out of seven varsity teams with 153 points.
Freshman Brittany Kaltenbaugh (Waterford, PA / Fort LeBoeuf) was the highest Westminster finisher with an 18th-place time of 24:42 to lead the Titan women. Sophomore Jennifer Krueger (Adamsville, PA/Conneaut Lake) also placed 26th with a time of 25:38.
The overall top women's time was Mercyhurst's Christie Turak running the course in 21:53. Slippery Rock won the women's standings with 36 points.
On the men's side, sophomore Morgan Hanes (McKean, Pa./General McLane) placed 21st overall for Westminster with a time of 28:18, followed by senior Jeremiah Patterson (Jefferson, Ohio/Jefferson) in at 28:42 for 29th overall.
Slippery Rock's Matt Grey was the top men's finisher with a time of 26:09. Wayne State won the men's standings with 28 points.
Westminster returns to action at Oberlin on Oct. 17.
