FINDLEY LAKE, N.Y. - The Westminster College men's golf team shot a 325 and placed fifth out of 11 teams as the Penn State Behrend Invitational Thursday, held at the Peek'N Peak Resort & Spa in Findley Lake, N.Y.
Junior Steven LaRue (Ligonier, Pa./Ligonier Valley) and sophomores David Mlinarich (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) and Nate Silvis (St. Petersburg, Pa./Allegheny Clarion Valley) all shot team-low 81s to lead the Titans, while junior Ryan Spear (Hubbard, Ohio/Ursuline) carded an 82.
Washington & Jefferson won the event with a 308, led by medalist Brad Cieslinski's round-low 72.
Westminster returns to action Sept. 28-29 in first leg of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships at Oak Tree Country Club in West Middlesex, Pa., which will continue in late April to determine the conference championship.
