Women’s Tennis: Titans Shutout Thomas More in Season Opener

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. - The Westminster College women's tennis team, the defending Presidents' Athletic Conference champions, opened its 2014-15 season with a 9-0-shutout at Thomas More on Sunday.

Titan sophomore Sydney Sterner (Imperial, PA / West Allegheny) won no. 1 singles by winning 6-3, 7-6 and a tiebreaker of 8-6.

Westminster sophomore Mariah Turiano (Hollidaysburg, PA / Hollidaysburg) teamed up with first-year Gabby Eaborn (Coraopolis, PA) for an 8-0 shutout-win at no. 1 doubles.

The Titans are back in action Wednesday when they travel to Franciscan for a 5:30 p.m. matchup.
