High Fives: March 24 – March 30

High Fives are the Top-5 performances by Westminster athletes during the previous week as selected by the Titan Sports Blogger.

#1 - Senior pitcher Scott Hanicak (Baseball) threw a complete game on Thursday against PAC rival Geneva, guiding the Titans to a 4-1 win. Hanicak only gave up one run off seven hits and struck out a career-high eight batters and walked one.

#2 - Sophomore Troy Abbott (Men's Tennis) guided the Titans to two PAC wins last week, including Westminster's conference opener. He went 2-0 at number one singles and at first doubles with junior Mike Matisi. In Westminster's 5-4 win at Saint Vincent on March 24, Abbott won at first singles (6-1, 6-7, 6-2) and 8-3 at number one doubles. In their 9-0 win over Thiel on March 28, he won, 6-2, 6-1 at first singles and 8-0 at number one doubles.

#3 - Sophomore Maddie Frech (Women's Track and Field) won the javelin (29.93m) at the Wooster Invitational on Saturday. The Titan women won two events at the meet. The next competition is set for Saturday at Carnegie Mellon.

#4 - Sophomore Michael Mikita (Men's Track and Field) placed second in the 100 (11.74) on Saturday at the Wooster Invitational. Mikita was also part of the 4x100 relay team who placed first with a time of 45.19. The Titan men won four events.

#5 - Senior OF Erika Pamer (Softball) registered an RBI in game one in Thursday's loss against Case Western. Westminster will play at Chatham on Thursday in a PAC doubleheader.
