Wednesday, February 26, 2014NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) today selected men's tennis sophomore Troy Abbott (Seven Fields, PA / Seneca Valley) as its SAAC Titan Athlete of the Week for the week of Feb. 24.
Last week, Abott went 2-0 at no. 1 singles and teamed up with senior Ryan Carr (Cheektowaga, NY / Cheektowaga Central) for a 1-1 record in no. 1 doubles, guiding the Titans to a 2-0 record. Westminster won, 5-4, at PS-Behrend on Friday, followed by a 5-4 win at Pitt-Bradford on Saturday.
Westminster will next compete in its three-match spring trip in Hilton Head Island, S.C. starting on March 9 with Juniata. The Titans will also play Fairleigh Dickenson-Florham (March 11) and Heidelberg (March 13).
