NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College women's swimming & diving teams remained undefeated after a 124-88 win over Chatham on Saturday. The Titans improved to 6-0 overall, while the Cougars dropped to 1-2 on the season.
The Titans won all eight swimming events that Westminster did not use exhibition swimmers. Westminster won three of the four events that it did use exhibition swimmers.
Titan juniors Marina Rozick (Pittsburgh, PA / North Allegheny) and Ashley Wyland (Pittsburgh, PA / Taylor Allderdice) led Westminster with two first-place individual finishes each. Rozick won the 200 yard backstroke (2:17.09) and the 200 yard freestyle (2:05.93), while Wyland won the 1,000 yard freestyle (11:18.39) and the 100 yard freestyle (58.47).
Westminster's 400 yard medley relay team, consisting of juniors Sarah Waszyn (North Huntingdon, PA / Norwin) and Rebecca Mobley (Gibsonia, PA / Pine-Richland) and freshmen Samantha Tower (Export, PA / Franklin Regional) and Sarah Pace (Cranberry Township, PA / Oakland Catholic), won with a time of 4:22.35. Rounding out the winners were sophomore Kelsey Reott (Butler, PA / Slippery Rock) (50 yard freestyle/25.84), freshman Anita Peduto (Glenshaw, PA / Shaler Area) (200 yard IM/2:23.46), and senior Erin Erdley (Meadville, PA / Cochranton) (200 yard butterfly/2:22.99).
The Titans will next compete at the three-day Wooster Invitational starting on December 5.
