WAYNESBURG, Pa. - The Westminster College men's soccer team tied Waynesburg, 1-1, in double overtime on Wednesday night. The Titans moved to 7-8-3 overall and 2-2-3 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference, while the Yellow Jackets went to 9-3-3 overall and 2-2-2 in the conference.
The Yellow Jackets scored first in the ninth minute of the game off the foot of Tim Fields. Waynesburg held on to its lead at halftime.
Titan sophomore Ethan McCarthy (New Castle, PA / Neshannock) knotted things up, 1-1, with a goal, his team-leading 10th goal of the year, in the 64th minute.
For the game, Westminster out-shot Waynesburg, 36-13.
Westminster senior goalie Joe Bonish (Newport News, VA / Woodside) got the win and moved to 3-3-2. Bonish had six saves in 110 minutes of play.
The Titans will host Grove City on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. for their Senior Day.
