Volleyball: Titans Win Sixth-Straight, Blank Thiel

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College volleyball team blanked Thiel, 3-0, on Wednesday night inside Buzz Ridl Gymnasium. The Titans extend their winning-streak to six and improved to 24-6 overall and 11-4 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference, while the Tomcats dropped to 2-24 overall and 2-12 in the conference.

The Titans won 25-23, 25-12, and 25-13. Thiel kept it close in the third set by only being down 14-12, however Westminster went on a 11-1 run to end the set and the match.

Titan senior Megan Romocean (Ravenna, OH / Southeast) led the offense with a game-high 12 kills. Classmate Rebecca Riemer (Pittsburgh, PA / Mount Lebanon) followed with seven kills to go along with a game-high three block assists. Senior Lexi Starheim (Hubbard, OH / Hubbard) earned six kills and a solo block, while junior Kassie Freyermuth (Allison Park, PA / North Allegheny) had seven kills and a block assist. Junior Julie Powell (Meadville, PA / Meadville) added six kills to go along with 14 digs. Senior Claire Ferrando (North Jackson, OH / Western Reserve) led the defense with a game-high 16 digs. Also earning double-digit digs for Westminster was senior Katie Palkovic (Camp Hill, PA / Trinity) who had 11 in addition to her game-high 31 assists and four kills.

Westminster will travel to Geneva on Saturday with a starting time of 11 a.m.
