NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) today selected football player senior Sean Christofferson (New Wilmington, PA / Wilmington) as its SAAC Titan Athlete of the Week for the week of Oct. 14.
Christofferson had a season-high nine tackles (seven solo) and two and a half sacks as part of three and a half tackles for loss in Westminster's 27-24 come-from-behind victory over Carnegie Mellon. Christofferson was credited with a key second down stop at the Titans' 49-yard line as Westminster was holding a three-point advantage over a driving Carnegie Mellon offense with just 1:30 remaining.
Christofferson was also named the Presidents' Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week and to the D3football.com National Team of the Week.
Westminster will host Washington & Jefferson under the lights of Harold Burry Stadium this Saturday at 7 p.m.
