GREENVILLE, Pa. - Senior defensive end Sean Christofferson (New Wilmington, PA / Wilmington), a member of the Westminster College football team, was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week.
Christofferson registered season- highs with nine tackles (7 solo, 2 assist) and 2.5 sacks to go along with 3.5 tackles for loss in Westminster's 27-24 come-from-behind Homecoming victory over Carnegie Mellon Saturday afternoon. Christofferson was credited with a key second down stop at the Titans' 49-yard line as Westminster was holding a three-point advantage over a driving Carnegie Mellon offense with just 1:30 remaining. Christofferson's 5.5 sacks and 10.5 tackles for loss this season rank him second in the league in each category.
Westminster will host Washington & Jefferson under the lights of Harold Burry Stadium this Saturday at 7 p.m.
