NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College men's soccer team won, 1-0, versus Saint Vincent for its first Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) win Saturday night. Titan sophomore Marcus Gurgiolo (Edinburg, PA / Mohawk Area) scored the game-winner off a deflection in the box with under two minutes remaining in regulation.
Gurgiolo's goal marked his first of the season. Westminster improved to 6-7-1 overall and 1-1-1 in the PAC, while the Bearcats dropped to 2-10 overall and 0-1 in the conference.
For the game, Westminster outshot Saint Vincent, 21-13, including an 8-to-4 shots-on-goal advantage. Titan sophomore Stephen McDaniel (Jamestown, NC / Southwest Guilford) had a team-high three shots on goal.
Westminster senior goalie Joe Bonish (Newport News, VA / Woodside) got the win and improved to 1-2 on the season. Bonish had four saves in a complete-match effort.
The Titans will travel to Thiel on Wednesday with a starting time of 8:30 p.m.
