Softball: Titans Split With Grove City

GROVE CITY, Pa. - The Westminster College softball team split a doubleheader with PAC foe Grove City today.  The Titans took game one with a score of 11-1, while Grove City won game two 10-2.  The Titans moved to 18-12 (11-3 PAC), while the Wolverines went to 6-18 (3-11 PAC).
 
Senior Olet Stasko (McDonald, PA / West Allegheny) led the Titans offensively in game one, going 3-3 with three runs scored.  Freshman Allison Hryadil (Pittsburgh, PA / Montour) added two RBIs, as did junior Lauren Stoczynski (Erie, PA / Harborcreek).
 
Senior pitcher Chelsea Brown (New Castle, PA / Mohawk) had a complete game win for the Titans.  Brown went all six innings, giving up just two hits and two walks, while striking out six and surrendering zero earned runs.
 
In game two freshman picher Ashley Smith (Spartansburg, PA / Titusville) took the loss for the Titans.  The Titans were unable to overcome a four run first inning by the Wolverines and were eight runned in five innings. 
 
Senior Katie Hughes (Boardman, OH / Cardinal Mooney) had both of the Titan's RBIs in game two, as she went 1-2.
 
The Titans are back on the diamond April 23rd for a doubleheader at Saint Vincent.  First pitch is slated for 3:30 pm.
