NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) today selected softball senior Katie Hughes (Boardman, OH / Cardinal Mooney) as its SAAC Titan Athlete of the Week for the week of April 8.
Hughes guided the Titans to a 4-0 record as she led the offense with an impressive .615 batting average that included team-highs of nine RBI, eight hits, and 11 total bases. Hughes' slugging percentage of .846 was also a team-best, while her five runs scored were second on the team.
Westminster will face Thiel today in a Presidents' Athletic Conference doubleheader. The first game is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
