Swimming & Diving: Freshman Matt Baurle Earns All-American After School-Record Finish

SHENANDOAH, Texas - Freshman swimmer Matt Baurle (Jeannette, PA / Penn Trafford), a member of the Westminster College men's swimming team, finished in eighth-place in the 100-yard breaststroke at the 2013 NCAA Division III Men's Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday, earning the distinction of All-American in the process. Baurle finished in a school-record time of 55.93, breaking his own school-record of 56.10 that he set in the preliminaries.

Coming into tonight's competition, Baurle ranked eighth in the country in the 100 yard breaststroke with a school-record time of 56.40. Baurle will compete in the 200-yard breaststroke on Saturday where he stands 10th in the nation with a time of 2:02.75.

The Championships are taking place at the Conroe Natatorium in Shenandoah, Texas.
