NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) today selected men's basketball junior Anthony Thomas (New Castle, Pa. / Union) as its SAAC Titan Athlete of the Week for the week of November 19.
Thomas averaged 19.0 points and shot 55.6 percent (15-27) from the floor as he helped guide the Titans to a 2-0 start of the 2012-13 season, the program's first 2-0 start since the 2000-01 season. He finished with 19 points, four assists and a pair of rebounds in Friday's 67-58 victory over Mount Union and totaled 19 points, three assists and three rebounds in Saturday's 78-60 victory over Muskingum. Thomas was selected to the Buzz Ridl All-Classic team for his efforts. He committed just two turnovers in 64 minutes of action.
Westminster will travel to Washington & Jefferson next Wednesday in its Presidents' Athletic Conference opener. Tip-off is slated for 8 p.m.
