Women's Tennis: Titans Remain Undefeated; End Franciscan's Winning Streak

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College women's tennis team defeated the visiting Franciscan Lady Barons on Thursday, 9-0. With the win, the Titans ended the Lady Barons' nine-match winning streak and remained perfect with an 11-0 overall record. Franciscan dropped to 11-2.

Earning shutout wins in singles for Westminster were senior Alex Bailey (Murrysville, PA / Franklin Regional) and junior Heather Santa (Butler, PA / Butler) at no. 1 and no. 4 singles, respectively. With the win, Santa ended Godnick's spotless singles record.

Westminster sophomore Lauren Fling (Norton, OH / Norton) won a hard fought match at no. 5 singles (6-1, 1-6, 10-7). The duo of Bailey and junior Caitlin Hosler (Lititz, PA / Manheim Central) won at no. 1 doubles, 8-0.

Westminster will host Chatham on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. for its Senior Day.
