Volleyball: Titans Blank Waynesburg, 3-0

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College volleyball team defeated the visiting Waynesburg Yellow Jackets, 3-0, Thursday night inside Buzz Ridl Gymnasium. The Titans improved to 13-7 overall and 7-4 in the PAC, while the Yellow Jackets dropped to 5-11 overall and 1-7 in the conference.

The Titans never trailed in set one and won 25-12. Westminster was down 15-17 in set two, however the Titans rallied and won 25-18 after a 10-1 run. The lead went back-and-forth between the two teams in the third set, however Westminster clinched the set and the match with a 25-21 win.

Junior Rebecca Riemer (Pittsburgh, PA / Mount Lebanon) and junior Megan Romocean (Ravenna, OH / Southeast) led the Titan offense with 10 kills apiece. Sophomore Kassie Freyermuth (Allison Park, PA / North Allegheny) added six kills. Junior Katie Palkovic (Camp Hill, PA / Trinity) and freshman Tiffany Jackson (Las Vegas, NV / Las Vegas) earned double digits in assists with 25 and 10, respectively. Senior Tara Incerpi (Carrollton, OH / Minerva) and sophomore Julie Powell (Meadville, PA / Meadville) led Westminster's defense with 22 and 12 digs, respectively.

Westminster will travel to Fredonia, N.Y. for three matches this weekend, starting with Rochester Institute of Technology on Friday at 4 p.m.  For more information on the tournament, go here.
