Men's Soccer: Cantella Leads Titans to 4-1 Victory

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College men's soccer team had an impressive offensive performance on Tuesday as they topped the visiting Franciscan Barons 4-1. The Titans improved to 4-1 overall, while Franciscan dropped to 0-3 on the year. The Titans outshot the Barons 31-6 and also had a 15-4 shots-on-goal advantage.

Westminster senior Josh Cantella (Freedom, PA / Freedom) scored the first goal of the game off a deflection at the 26:50 mark. Cantella found freshman Stephen McDaniel (Jamestown, NC / Southwest Guilford) 13 minutes later to give the Titans a 2-0 lead. Two minutes later, Cantella scored his second goal of the game and his team-leading fifth of the season as he bent a 10-yarder to the far post of the goal post.

Also scoring for the Titans was freshman Marcus Gurgiolo (Edinburg, PA / Mohawk Area) (72:02) for his first goal of his collegiate career.

Westminster senior goalie Adam Kephart (Beaver Falls, PA / Beaver County Christian) earned the win with three saves in 80:52 minutes of play.

The Titans will look to make it two-straight wins when they travel to Penn-State Behrend on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
