The Towering Titan Organization (TTO) kicked off a new season of supporting Westminster athletics Monday, July 30, as the TTO held its Buzz Ridl Golf Classic at the New Castle Country Club. The 35th annual event included 94 golfers - up from 84 last year - in a four-person scramble and a dinner reception.
The winning team was Scott Culley '90, Chris Daltorio '90, Don Gregory ‘89, and David Smith '88. They shot a 57 (-15). All were members of the Titan golf team under Coach Buzz Ridl during their undergraduate days.
The Douds' team (Bob '62, Bill '62, Bob Jr. '94, and Bill Jr. '89), the six-time champions of the event, shot a 58 (-14) to tie for 2nd place with two other teams.
The TTO enjoyed yet another successful year in 2011-12. A total of 1,113 individuals donated $163,213.45. There were over 1,000 donors for only the fourth time in TTO history.
