Baseball: Titans Drop 1-0 to No. 25 W&J

WASHINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College baseball team lost 1-0 to No. 25 Washington & Jefferson on Sunday. The Titans dropped to 20-13 overall and 11-6 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC). The Presidents improved to 24-4 overall and 15-2 in league play.

Senior pitcher Vince Iosue (Euclid, OH / Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) took the loss for Westminster and is now 3-4. Iosue threw a complete game, allowing just one run on seven hits while fanning a pair.

Westminster built a threat in the first inning, putting runners on first and third with one out, but was unable to produce any runs. The Titans managed just two hits on the day and only two base runners advanced as far as second base.

Westminster is second in the PAC standings, while trailing W&J by four games for the top seed and hosting rights of the PAC Tournament (May 10-12). The Titans and the Presidents both have seven league games before the conference tournament.

The Titans return to the diamond on Wednesday when they travel to Saint Vincent for a nine-inning game at 3 p.m.
