Saturday, October 29, 2011NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College men's and women's cross country teams hosted the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships Saturday. The Titan men placed sixth out of nine teams with 160 points. The Titan women placed third out of 10 teams with 103 points.
Senior Jennifer Krueger (Adamsville, Pa./Conneaut Lake) earned first-team all-PAC honors by finishing the 6-kilometer race with a sixth-place time of 24:17.4. Krueger has earned first-team all-PAC plaudits in each of the last three years. Freshman Jenny Jones (Erie, Pa./Fort LeBoeuf) earned second-team all-PAC laurels by cracking the top 10 with a 10th-place time of 24:48.7.
Ivette Mejia of Saint Vincent won the women's race at 22:33.2 and the Grove City women's took home the PAC title with 38 points.
On the men's side, sophomore Aaron Sutton (Warren, Ohio/Howland) earned second-team all-PAC honors by finishing the 8-kilometer race in 27:53.0 for 11th place overall.
Kevin Wanichko of the PAC champion Saint Vincent team (35) won the men's race at 26:37.3.
Westminster will run in the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional at DeSales Nov. 12.
