Men’s Cross Country: Slagle Places in Top-10; Titans Finish Fourth at Home Invite

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Sophomore Matt Slagle (Bruin, PA / Karns City) placed sixth (29:53.9), guiding the Westminster men's cross country team to a fourth-place finish at the Fisher Invitational on Westminster's campus. The Titans finished with 84 points against five other schools. A total of 57 runners competed.

Brendan Keany of Waynesburg (28:19.0) placed first overall, while Franciscan won the event with 44 points.

Sophomore John-Scott Somora (Grove City, PA / Grove City) was next to finish for the Titans at 20th (30:48.0). 

Rounding out the top seven finishers for Westminster were junior Chase Whelan (Hermitage, PA) (31:15.6), freshman Trevor Arrigoni (Canonsburg, PA) (31:36.8), sophomore Neil Christopher (Pittsburgh, PA / Brentwood) (32:45.1), freshman Josh McFall (New Castle, PA) (34:37.3), and freshman Robert Turk (Orlando, FL) (35:57.3).          

Westminster is back in action on Sept. 13 when it travels to Bethany.
