Baseball: Titans Fall at Saint Vincent, 13-3

LATROBE, Pa. - The Westminster College baseball team lost, 13-3, at Saint Vincent in a nine-inning game on Monday. The Titans dropped to 9-17 overall and 6-8 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC), while the Bearcats improved to 14-17 overall and 9-9 in the conference.

The Bearcats led 7-0 before the Titans scored two runs in the top of the fifth inning. Freshman Sean Coyne (New Castle, PA / New Castle) doubled home junior Duncan Watt (Pickering, ON / Dunbarton), who led off the inning with a single. Coyne now has three doubles on the year. Sophomore Ryan Dunn (Freeport, PA / Freeport) scored Coyne with a ground out.

Saint Vincent added three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and three more in the sixth to take a 13-2 lead. Westminster added another run in the top of the eighth after junior Jared Heck (Pittsburgh, PA / North Hills) scored on a throwing error by Saint Vincent.

Titan freshman pitcher Danny Owoc (Penn. Township, PA / Penn-Trafford) (0-2) pitched 0.2 innings, giving up three runs (one earned) and three walks.

Westminster will host Bethany tomorrow in a PAC doubleheader. The first pitch of game one is set for 2 p.m.
