Women's Tennis: Titans Drop Against Juniata for First Loss of the Season

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Westminster College women's tennis team lost its first match of the season, 6-3, to Juniata on Sunday in the Titans' first match of their Spring Trip. Women's tennis is a fall sport at Westminster but the three Spring Trip matches count toward the Titans' overall record.

Westminster moved to 15-1 overall, while the Eagles improved to 2-0.

The Titan duo of senior Caitie Hosler (Lititz, PA / Manheim Central) and freshman Mariah Turiano (Hollidaysburg, PA / Hollidaysburg) won at no. 1 doubles, 8-5.

Hosler also picked up a no. 1 singles win with a 6-2, 3-6, 10-2 tie-breaking victory. Also earning a singles win was senior Heather Santa (Butler, PA / Butler) who won, 6-0, 6-3 at no. 4.

Westminster will continue its Spring Trip as it faces Penn. State-Harrisburg on Monday.
