PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Westminster College women's soccer team, won 1-0, at Chatham on Saturday. The Titans improved to 11-6-2 overall and 6-1-2 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC), while the Cougars finished their season 1-15-1 overall and 0-8-1 in the conference.
Titan senior Amanda Turi (Monroeville, PA / Gateway) scored the lone goal of the game, her team-leading sixth of the season, in the 59th minute after she received a pass from freshman Mariah Treiber (Grove City, PA / Grove City Area).
Westminster sophomore goalie Madeline Frech (Leechburg, PA / Kiski Area) got the win and improved to 6-4-1. Frech played the entire second half and earned three saves.
For the game, Westminster outshot Chatham 18-9.
With the win, Westminster secured the no. 3 seed for the 2013 PAC Championship Tournament and will play at the no.2-seeded Grove City on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
