Track and Field: Men Place Third, Women Place Fourth at Westminster Invite

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College track and field teams competed at the Westminster Invitational Saturday.  The women's team placed fourth out of 13 teams with a score of 124, while the men placed third out of 12 teams with a score of 96.50.

Westminster won six events (three men and three women).

Junior Haley Gabor (New Kensington, PA / Ford City) had a first place finish in the 400 meter run with a time of 59.71.  Gabor was also a part of the 4x100 meter relay that took first place with a time of 50.67.

The other first place finish for the women was sophomore Alaura Hanssen (New Wilmington, PA / Wilmington) in the discus with a toss of 36.66 meters.

For the men, Senior Robert Fazzolare (Polk, PA / Franklin) had a first place finish in the 200 meter dash (22.78), junior Aaron Sutton (Warren, OH / Howland) won the 300 meter steeplechase (9:55.20), and junior Anthony Thomas (New Castle, PA / Union) took the triple jump with a  leap 13.42m.

The Titans are back in action on April 18 for the PAC North Quad Meet at Geneva College in Beaver Falls, PA.
