GREENVILLE, Pa. - The Westminster College women's golf team finished second with a score of 415 at the five-team 2013 Thiel College Spring Invitational on Saturday, April 6. Sophomore Morgan Pierce (Fredonia, PA / Reynolds) led the Titans with a score of 102, tying for fifth-place overall.
Ursuline College won the event with a score of 371. Grove City followed the Titans with a 434. Rounding out the finishers were Thiel (445) and Waynesburg (553).
Junior Rachel Sherman (North East, PA / North East) and senior Becca Schuster (Oil City, PA / Oil City) finished next for the Titans as they tied for seventh with a score of 103. Also finishing in the top-10 for Westminster was freshman Carey Boughner (Cooperstown, PA / Rocky Grove) who carded a 106 for a ninth-place tie.
Westminster will next compete as hosts of the Mary Cleland Eckles Invitational on Monday at the New Castle Country Club. The shotgun start is slated for 12 p.m.
