NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College women's and men's swimming & diving teams have named junior Erin Erdley (Meadville, PA / Cochranton) and seniors Kelsey Dawson (Bethel Park, PA / Bethel Park), Dan Gutmann (Cranberry Twp., PA / Seneca Valley) and Alan Nedley (White, PA / Connellsville) their team captains for the 2012-13 season.
Erdley, a first and second team all-PAC honoree, is a three-time PAC champion (1650 free style, 200 backstroke, and 400 medley relay). She also holds Westminster's top-five times in the 1000, 1650 freestyle and the 100 and 200 backstroke. Dawson is a two-time letterman and this will be her fourth year on the team.
Gutmann, a three-time first team all-PAC honoree, boasts the fourth-best time in backstroke in school history (58:35) and has a PAC championship in the 200 free style and 100 breaststroke. Nedley is also a three-time first team all-PAC honoree and a PAC champion (200 fly). Nedley is just as impressive out of the pool as he was tabbed CSCAA Scholar All-American.
Westminster opens its season on Friday, October 26, as they host the Westminster Relays at 6 p.m.
