ERIE, Pa. - The Westminster women's golf team finished ninth in the Mercyhurst Invitational on Sunday with a score of 382. The outing was played at Downing Golf Course in Harborcreek, Pa. Although the event was originally scheduled for two days, Saturday's play was cancelled due to weather conditions. Downing Golf Course is a par 72, 5809 yard course.
Sophomore Morgan Pierece (Fredonia, PA / Reynolds) led Westminster with a 92 (46-46) for a 43rd-place tie. Titan freshman Kailee Decker (Grove City, PA / Grove City) followed with a 49th-place tie with a score of 95 (46-49).
Rounding out the participants for Westminster was junior Jenna Huston (Beaver Falls, PA / Blackhawk) (96), freshman Carly Boughner (Cooperstown, PA / Cooperstown) (99), and junior Rachel Sherman (North East, PA / North East) (109).
Westminster is back in action Monday when it travels to St. Vincent College.
