NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - A total of 131 cross country runners from nine colleges competed in the Fisher Invitational hosted by Westminster College on Saturday morning. Both the Titan men's and women's teams placed third in their respective races, which included six scored men's and nine women's teams.
For the men, junior Aaron Sutton (Warren, OH / Warren, OH) paced Westminster with a second-place finish with a time of 26:41, just under a minute from the winner. Kyle Filicky (Poland, OH / Poland, OH) also finished in the top-10 with a time 28:55.5 for tenth place.
Sophomore Jenny Jones (Erie, PA / Erie, PA) led the women's team with a fifth-place finish (26:14.7). Junior Sydney Spain (Batavia, IL ) was next with a 20th place finish (28:20.3).
The Titans are back in action September 15 when they travel to Penn St. Behrend.
