Current Team Notes:
The Westminster College baseball team split their double header against Saint Vincent on April 17. The Titans lost game one by the score of 12-3 and then went on to win game two by the score of 7-4. Sophomore Ron Sullivan (Boardman, OH / Canfield) earned the loss in game one after giving up 10 runs on 10 hits in 5.1 innings of work. Junior Kyle Allen (New Wilmington, PA / West Middlesex) led the Titans with two RBI. With the Titans down 3-1 in their second game, three players homered. Junior Tyler Robinson (Creston, PA / Norwayne) and senior David Schafer (Hermitage, PA / Hickory) hit back-to-back home runs to tie the game. Two batters later, senior Steve Perrotta (New Castle, PA / New Castle) hit a two-run home run to give the Titans the lead. Junior Scott Hanicak (Ellwood City, PA / Laurel) got the win in game two after throwing four innings and giving up three runs off of five hits. Junior Nick Grow (North East, PA / North East) earned the save. The Titans lost two hard fought games to No. 25 Washington & Jefferson on April 21 by the scores of 6-4 and 3-2 in 11 innings. In the first game of the double header, senior Justin Prejsnar (New Castle, PA / New Castle) earned his first loss of the season after he gave up six runs (three earned) off of eight hits. Prejsnar also struck out eight in 5.1 innings of work. Schafer led the Titans with a home run, which was his third of the season. In game two, senior Patrick Mulligan (Brookfield, OH / Brookfield) pitched a no decision into eight innings. Mulligan gave up two runs of six hits and struck out seven. Grow got the loss after giving up an unearned run in three innings of work. Junior Ty Miller (Clinton, PA / Hopewell) and senior Ethan Yeager (Pottstown, PA / Owen J. Roberts) both had RBI singles in the bottom of the fourth inning to tie the game. The Titans could not capitalize with runners in scoring position later in the fourth and then in the 10th inning. The Titans went onto to lose their third game of the series by the score of 1-0. Senior Vince Iosue (Euclid, OH / Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) earned the loss after pitching a complete game and giving up one run off of seven hits. The Titans were only able to muster two hits in the contest. After the weekend series, Westminster sits in second place in the PAC standings, four games behind No. 25 Washington & Jefferson.

Current Team Notes:
The Westminster College softball swept Pitt-Greensburg in a double header on April 16 by the scores of 3-0 and 6-4. In game one, junior Chelsea Brown (New Castle, PA / Mohawk) earned the win for the Lady Titans in a complete-game-shutout performance with seven strikeouts. Sophomore Kelsey Squelch (Pittsburgh, PA / Perry Traditional) had two hits, a run, a double, and an RBI in the contest. The second game went into extra innings with the score tied 4-4 after a two-run seventh inning rally from the Lady Titans. Brown led the inning off with a home run, followed by an RBI single later in the inning by senior Erica Kimmick (Parma, OH / Cuyahoga Heights). In the eighth inning, junior Layne Carpenter (Marietta, OH / Marietta) hit a single that drove in two runs to put the Lady Titans ahead. The team went on to split a double header with Geneva on April 18 by winning game one by the score of 3-1 and losing game two by the score of 6-1. Brown gave up one run on six hits in a complete game performance en route to her 15th win of the year. Kimmick and senior Katie Hughes (Boardman, OH / Cardinal Mooney) knocked in runs for the Lady Titans in the contest. In game two, freshman Carly Leffakis (Pittsburgh, PA / North Catholic) earned her first loss of the season after giving up six runs (four earned) off of five hits. Kimmick and juniors Olet Stasko (McDonald, PA / West Allegheny) and Brittany Gamble (Poland, OH / Poland Seminary) recorded multiple hits in the game. The Lady Titans were swept by Grove City in a double header on April 20. The team lost both game by the score of 7-4. Brown earned both losses on the day, dropping her record to 15-6 on the year. Kimmick led the team in game one with three hits, a run, and an RBI. In game two, Hughes led the team with had four hits, two RBI, and a run.

Track and Field

Current Team Notes:
The Westminster College women's and men's track and field teams both finished first at the PAC Quad North meet yesterday. The event was hosted by Geneva College. Highlighting the day were two record-breaking performances by Westminster seniors Merrissa Malcolm PAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week senior Ryan Bell. Malcolm broke the 12-year old pole vault stadium record as well as the meet record with a first-place mark of 3.5 meters. This mark also tied her own school record that she set as a freshman.  Bell led the men with breaking the stadium record in the javelin toss with a first-place throw of 66.48 meters. It also shattered the meet record by over 11 meters and broke his own school record that he set a year ago. The women finished with 191 points, while the men scored a 195 which was 26 points better than the second-place finisher. The women had eight first-place finishers, while the men had seven. Other PAC schools that competed were Grove City, Geneva, and Thiel.

Current Team Notes:
The Westminster College men's golf team finished eighth at the Saint Vincent Invitational on April 19 with a score of 340. Sophomore David Paladino (Jefferson Hills, PA / Thomas Jefferson) led the Titans with a score of 83 (40-43).  The Titans finished fifth at the Thiel Invitational on April 21. The Titans shot a team score of 338. Senior Dave Mliarnich (North Huntingdon, PA / Norwin) (43-39) and sophomore Ryan Avril (Jamestown, PA / Jamestown) (42-40) led the Titans as they both shot scores of 82. Senior Pam Bonneau (Venetia, PA / Peters Township) led the Lady Titans at Washington & Jefferson with a medalist score of 90 (41-49), five shots better than the runner-up. The team went onto finish fourth with a score of 458.

Current Team Notes:
The Westminster College men's tennis team finished third at the PAC Championships on April 21. The Titans earned 20 points over the two-day tournament, which is the team's best finish in the last 10 years. Junior Ryan Carr (Cheektowaga, NY / Cheektowaga Central) earned all-PAC honors after he placed second in 5th singles. Freshman Mike Matisi (Lowellville, OH / Lowellville) earned all-PAC honorable mention in fourth singles and junior Marshall Finelli (Girard, OH / Ursuline) earned all-PAC honorable mention in sixth singles. The doubles team of Matisi and junior Sean Black (Aurora, OH / Aurora) earned all-PAC honorable mention in second doubles. The duo of Carr and Finelli also earned all-PAC honorable mention in third doubles.
