Westminster College Announces Titan Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2002 (8/19/02)
Seven New Enshrineees Will Be Inducted during Ceremonies on Sept. 28, 2002

    NEW WILMINGTON, Pa – The Westminster College Department of Athletics will induct seven new members into the Titan Sports Hall of Fame during ceremonies on Sept. 28, 2002. The Class of 2002 inductees will be introduced at halftime of the Titan football game against Allegheny College that afternoon, then will be officially enshrined during a banquet in Russell Hall on campus following the football game.

    The seven inductees for 2002 are:

WILLIAM M. HAZEN '65 - FOOTBALL
Bill Hazen was a four-year letterman on the offensive line for the Titan football team in the early 1960s, leading the program to an undefeated (8-0) season as a senior in 1964. He was honored as an NAIA Honorable Mention All-American, a UPI Honorable Mention All-American, an Associated Press All-State Honorable Mention selection, and was an All-West Penn Conference pick. In addition to his athletic accomplishments, Hazen served as president and pledgemaster for Sigma Nu fraternity and was active with Interfraternity Council, Varsity W and intramurals. He continues to serve his alma mater today as a member of the Westminster Board of Trustees and as a member of the Towering Titan Organization Executive Committee. A native of New Castle, Pa., and graduate of New Castle High School, Hazen is the owner of Bill Hazen & Associates, a mangement consulting firm. Hazen and his wife, Judith, have one son, Max, and reside in Columbus, Ohio.

R. BRIAN KINKY '83 - BASEBALL
Brian Kinky was a three-time NAIA All-District 18 selection for the Titan diamondmen in the early 1980s and was instrumental in leading the program to its best-ever season (27-8) during his junior year in 1982. As a senior in 1983, Kinky was nationally-ranked in batting average (.463) en route to the All-District First Team. In 1982, he ranked third nationally in hitting frequency, fourth in runs scored, fifth in triples and was named team MVP en route to All-District First Team laurels. He was also an All-District Honorable Mention selection in 1981. A native of Warminster, Pa., and graduate of William Tennant High School, Kinky currently lives in Warminster where he is a sales representative for Sheppard Detective System, Inc.

BETH NATALE STANLEY '91 - WOMEN'S BASKETBALL/TENNIS
Beth Natale Stanley was a two-sport standout for the Lady Titan basketball and tennis teams in the late 1980s and early 1990s. In basketball, she was an All-District second-team selection as a senior in 1990-91 after breaking the then-school record for points in a season with 389. In tennis, she led the program to school-record nine-win seasons in 1988 and 1989, as well as a trip to the NAIA National Tournament in Kansas City. She was equally impressive in the classroom, twice earning NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors (1989-90, 1990-91). A native of New Castle, Pa., and graduate of New Castle High School, Natale Stanley currently resides in New Castle with her husband, Mark, and is a third-grade teacher in the New Castle School District.

CATHLEEN E. NICOLOFF '81 - WOMEN'S TENNIS
Cathleen Nicoloff was the leader of the Lady Titan tennis program during her collegiate career in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Her top season was her sophomore year, when she went undefeated in varsity competition. In addition to her tennis accomplishments, Nicoloff was a member of Kappa Delta sorority and served as a disc jockey for the campus radio station. She was remained active in tennis since graduation, currently serving as head teaching professional at the Wailea Tennis Club on Maui where she is responsible for all programs as well as accounting and buying for the pro shop. In 2001, she was named Professional of the Year for Hawaii Pacific. Nicoloff, a native of East Aurora, N.Y., and graduate of East Aurora High School, currently resides in Kihei, Maui, Hawaii.

MATTHEW D. RAICH '94 - FOOTBALL
Matt Raich was the defensive cornerstone of the Titan football teams of the late 1980s and early 1990s at middle linebacker, finishing his playing career at the top of the Westminster career defensive charts. A four-year letterman and three-year starter, Raich was a three-time NAIA All-American, including earning First Team honors in 1992 and Second Team laurels in 1991. He was a Kodak All-American as a senior and was named Defensive MVP of three national playoff games. Raich, a member of the 1989 Titan national championship team, led Westminster to a 42-6 overall record during his four years. At the conclusion of his career, he was the program's all-time leader in solo tackles (396), assisted tackles (243) and total tackles (639). He still holds the school career records in the latter two categories, as well as fumble recoveries (nine) and total defensive points (1,154). A native of Monaca, Pa., and graduate of Monaca High School, Raich currently resides in Monaca where he serves as a scout for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League.

BRAD T. ZUKOWSKI '93 - MEN'S SWIMMING
Brad Zukowski led the Titan men's swimming program in the early 1990s, twice earning team MVP honors and finishing his collegiate swimming career as a 22-time All-American. He held the school record in both the 100 freestyle (:46.92) and 200 freestyle (1:44.10) while at Westminster, and captured the Penn-Ohio Conference title in the 800 medley relay in 1993. A native of Gibsonia, Pa., and graduate of Richland High School, Zukowski currently resides in Saxonburg, Pa., where he serves as Director of Public Communications for Mylan Laboratories, Inc. He and his wife, the former Shauna Braun, have two children: Brooke (3) and Braden (8 months).

KRISTEN L. ZUKOWSKI FRY '94 - WOMEN'S SWIMMING
Kristen Zukowski Fry was the first and only national champion in the history of the Westminster Lady Titan swimming program. As a freshman in 1991, she captured the 100-yard butterfly in a school-record :58.37 to capture the national crown at the 1991 NAIA National Swimming & Diving Championships. She walked away from that meet in 1991 with All-America honors and school-record times in eight events, including five relays. She was a 32-time All-American when she graduated in 1994. Zukowski Fry was also named team MVP and served as team co-captain as a senior, while closing her career by winning the David Fawcett Award, the highest award given by the Athletic Department to a graduating senior each year. In addition to her athletic laurels, Zukowski Fry was a Dean's List student and was active with Zeta Tau Alpha sorority in college. A native of Gibsonia, Pa., and graduate of Richland High School, she currently lives in Gibsonia with her daughter Kylie (2) and is a ninth-grade English teacher at Riverview High School.
