Message from President Dorman
Westminster College is an instrument of enormous change. Our mission is to transform individual lives, which in turn transform our communities, our nation, and the world. We do this one student at a time. Our success in doing so has endured since 1852. In recent decades, strong momentum has placed Westminster on an upward trajectory resulting in increased national recognition for the quality of the education we offer, the human character we develop, and the affordability we maintain. Still, we have new heights to reach.
Our continuing ascension as an outstanding college must be sustained, especially in these challenging times. Westminster's new 10-year strategic plan, Advantage: Westminster, prescribes how this will be accomplished. Now is the time for all of Westminster's alumni and friends to come together as one to take us ever higher. This overview outlines the details and importance of Westminster's first comprehensive campaign in decades.
Our time is now. We invite you to be an instrument of change for Westminster.—Richard H. Dorman, D.Ed., President
The Westminster Way
Westminster College was founded as one of the earliest coeducational colleges in the nation, with a timeless mission of contributing to the development of individuals — intellectually, spiritually, and socially. Higher education is key to national and regional competitiveness as well as the pathway to individual success and security in the new global economy of the 21st century. Westminster aspires to new heights by redefining the liberal arts and experiential education in America, while helping lead the nation's return as a world leader in higher education.
From an initial working goal of $40 million, we have had outstanding success from the generosity of alumni and friends resulting in the Board of Trustees approving an increase to $50 million. Ever Higher is an ambitious $50 million campaign to support Westminster's strategic initiatives by increasing endowed funds for student scholarships, faculty development, and academic programs, by enhancing facilities, and by strengthening the Westminster Fund.
With your help, Westminster will continue to provide a premier education at an affordable price and maintain the personalized teaching and learning model that has been a Westminster hallmark since 1852. This is Westminster's time to rise Ever Higher.
