In 2002 Westminster College celebrated its 150th Anniversary by recognizing its historical ties to the Presbyterian Church with the establishment of the Young Presbyterian Scholarship. The decision was made to invite all PC(USA) churches to nominate qualified high school seniors interested in admission to Westminster College for this award. The scholarship enables the local church and Westminster College to partner together to provide students with opportunities to continue to grow in their faith while attending one of the leading liberal arts colleges in the country.
The Young Presbyterian Scholarship is worth $18,500 annually every year for four years, for a total of $74,000. Each PC(USA) congregation can nominate at least two qualifying graduating seniors for the scholarships each academic year.
