Post-Baccalaureate Certification in Elementary Education


Post-Baccalaureate Certification in Elementary Education is designed for a candidate who currently posses a bachelor's degree and would like to be certified to teach in the K-6 classroom. The undergraduate degree does not need to be in education.

Admission into this certification program is based upon a careful review of the following by the Lifelong Learning Program Director and the Department of Education:
  1. 3.0 GPA in the undergraduate degree program
  2. letter of intent addressed to the Chair of the Department of Education
  3. two letters of reference addressing candidate's potential as a teacher
  4. official transcripts from all previous schools attended

The Department of Education will analyze transcript(s) to establish a proposed course of study. Candidate will be interviewed to determine eligibility for the program. Admission will be completed when the Lifelong Learning application and a $35 non refundable application fee is received through the Lifelong Learning program.

Post-Baccalaureate Certification in Secondary Education is designed for a candidate who currently posses an undergraduate degree and would like to be certified to teach in the 7-12 classroom. The undergraduate degree does not need to be in the desired certification field.

Admission into this certification program is based upon a careful review of the following by the Lifelong Learning Program Director and the Department of Education:
  1. 3.0 GPA in the undergraduate degree program
  2. letter of intent addressed to the Chair of the Department of Education
  3. two letters of reference addressing candidate's potential as a teacher
  4. official transcripts from all previous schools attended
