Materials Science

Westminster College is proud to be one of the only liberal arts colleges of its size to offer a degree in materials sciences. Materials science is the research and study into the structures and chemical properties of various natural and synthetic or composite materials, including metals, alloys, rubber, ceramics, semiconductors, polymers, and glass.

Westminster has faculty members with significant expertise in materials science, as well as a collaborative and productive relationship with the materials science program at Youngstown State University. With this partnership, students will have access to state-of-the-art materials characterization instrumentation.
